BIG SEA BASS AND LING

(SAT) Today we ran a charter for Larry and his friends for a day of Sea Bass and the fishing was very good. We decided to try another area since the local drops have had loads of shorts for us to fight through for the keepers. The first drop we saw a good blast of keepers coming over with a nice showing of big Ling too. The second drop is all we needed to get out 8 man limit, there were several real knot heads that came up.It is a shame that the season is over already and we will now be sailing mudhole trip for ling and other bottom dwellers as well as bucktailing Fluke.

SEA BASS & LING

(SUNDAY) Today we ran an open boat Sea Bass trip with our regulars and we went right back to where we finished up good the day before. As soon as the rigs hit the bottom fish were on them, only problem the shorts were fierce. We did mange to pluck keepers from it but too many shorts to stay there, so off we went to some deeper water and the fishing improved. The guys were picking away at nicer fish there with a nice amount of big Ling coming up. By day’s end the boys had a nice cooler of fish to go home with. We also saw some short Fluke and Tog both released.

SEA BASS & STRIPERS

SAT) This A.M we ran our open oat Sea Bass trip and our first drop we only saw a few keeper Sea Bass but did catch several Tog on it that were released. Onto drop number two it was no great shakes so we decided to get out of the area and took a steam. The last area we got what we needed for the boat to limit out with some Ling and porgys (released) too.

(sun) Today we had a charter for Adam and his friends for a day of Sea Bass fishing and the first drop we picked away at the keepers and a ton of shorts. We got half our limit there and made a move to another drop and we finished up there for our full boat limit plus some Ling . On the way home we ran into Bass exploding all over the bunkers and we landed three and lost three which was a nice added bonus .

excellent sea bass

(Friday) Today we ran our open boat Sea Bass trip and the fishing was excellent. We made two drops for the day, the first one had a nice pick but not fast enough, so we hit another drop and that is all we needed. In under two hours we had our 8 man limit with some quality units. There were a lot of keeper double headers coming over the rail and Joe had a nice Tog he released.

(sat) This A.M we ran another Sea Bass trip and the fishing was super again, the first drop we had a good blast of nice fish coming up and then the shorts took over. We made a move to another drop and anchored up and the fish were climbing singles and doubles as quick as you could pull them. We had our 8 man linit in a hour and half. It is a short season so get on board while the fish are chewing.

sea bass

(SAT) This A.M we ran our first open boat Sea Bass trip and the life was very good, the problem was there were too many shorts to fight through to get the keepers. We did manage our boat limit with no problem for 6 anglers plus some nice Ling too. We fished several different areas and depths and the results were the same.

(sunday) Today was another open boat Sea Bass trip and we started off in a different direction to see what’s happening. The first few drops we saw a mix of Sea Bass, Tog& porgy (released). There was not enough there so we took a ride and had plenty of life but once again a ton of shorts too weed through. We did manage to get our 6 man limit but it took some work to do it.

Today we did a crew trip for some Tog to see what areas had life . The first three drops had no life and the water was very dirty. We decided to take a little ride and finally found the life, the four of us plucked away at the fish. We finished up with 12 nice keepers plus good short life and two keeper Cod.

BASS & TOG

(WED) Today we had a charter for Willy and his nephews from California for a day of Togging. We got anchored up on the piece and not much life a few shorts and a keeper plus the dog fish. A friend of ours gave us a call and said the birds were going crazy and the Bass were biting. We pulled the hooks and steamed over there and were into fish right away. The guys caught about 15 or so Stripers and kept a few for the dinner table. The last hour or so we anchored up again on a wreck and pulled a few more keeper Tog for the day with some shorts too.
